Stock Types facilitate grouping and categorising items entered into your availability chart. Stock types are used to create a classification and grouping of items that you purchase or carry in stock.
The best way to think about Stock Types is how you would start to categorise your stock when doing a stock take. Jobman’s Stock report will be a much more powerful resource when Stock Types are defined and it will definitely help when creating purchase orders.
Stock Types can be defined in Jobman or the Availability Charts.csv
In Jobman, Stock types can be found in the Admin/Inventory/Stock Types. You can now create all of your Stock Types by clicking Add Record button in the Stock Type Screen.
Note: Stock Type Names are case sensitive. Please make sure they match when defining through .csv.
If Stock Types are not in Jobman and are entered into the Availability Charts .csv they will populate Jobman’s Stock Types. It is important that if entering Stock Type records into the .csv that they must be exactly the same as what is in Jobman or they will duplicate.
